Schick Hydro Silk Razor Review

I’ve been getting a lot of razors in my subscription/ sample boxes, and honestly, I’m loving trying them all out! This one is the Schick Hydro Silk Razor that I received in my August 2012 birchbox as a bonus item! I used this razor about 4 times, and I wanted to let you guys know what I think of it!

It claims to have a “Water-Activated Moisturizing Serum & 5 Curve-Sensing blades” to help protect skin from irritation. I’d be lying if I said the curved shape didn’t help me move freely around my knees and legs without nicks, but I didn’t see a moisture difference! The blades definitely gave me a close shave and I noticed that I didn’t need to shave as frequently, so that was a plus! The shape of the actual setting for the blades is nice and round… it really hugged my knees, and not once did I worry about cutting myself.

But I have to be totally honest, here…….It didn’t leave my skin feeling as silky smooth as it claimed it would!

The blades definitely gave me a close shave and I noticed that I didn’t need to shave as frequently, but when I got out of the shower my legs weren’t as smooth, instantly, as they were with my Venus & Olay razor. I did end up using my EOS shaving cream with this product by the fourth use because I didn’t feel like it was adding much moisture, at all!

I don’t see this being a product I would purchase refills for, overall. If I didn’t use my EOS shaving cream so much and wanted this type of razor, I would opt for the Venus & Olay razor over the Schick Hydro Silk razor anyday! What is your go-to razor to keep your legs silky smooth?!
