Product Rave!! Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters
If you have been looking for a moisturizing, pigmented, cheaper alternative to high end lipsticks… LOOK NO FURTHER!!!!
I like to review new products whether I do or don’t like them, but I can honestly say that I LOVE these new Revlon Lip Butters!!!!
I have been having a lot of drama lately with drugstore lipsticks breaking me out! I had, honestly, given up all hope until I came across these Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters!!!!
I got 5 of the 20 available shades, but honestly… there we only like 7 left at my CVS!
Some of these are as pigmented as a lipstick, and others are more like a sheer wash of color. But honestly, that’s okay with me! I have swatches below to help show the more pigmented colors. It
(l to r) Sugar frosting, Cupcake, Creme Brulee,
Raspberry Pie, & Pink Truffle
Here are the colors that I own, and it seems like the rule of thumb for these is… the deeper the color, the more color payoff.
The first three colors only showed up after building up the product. Whereas the last two only take one swipe to truly see the color standout! My favorites are the two to the far left, because they have such awesome pigmentation! The other three would be perfect for slight color, or when worn on top of lip liner they’ll give nice nude coloring to your lips! As long as the colors flatter your skintone you can’t go wrong with this product!! I totally love them!
Overall, I’ve found they are less drying
than some lipsticks, but I would still use a light coating of lipbalm to make sure your lips stay hydrated. They do cake if your lips get dry, so that is something to watch out for! All-in-all I love everything from the packaging to the color payoff!!! You won’t get all day wear out of these, but you have to remember they are a lip butter/balm, not a longwear lipstick!
They are around $7-9 a pop, so it’s cheaper than MAC lipstick, but more than Baby Lips! CVS is having BOGO 50% off next week on Revlon products. So if you happen to see any in your local store, go try some out!
