Nails of the Day NOTD- NYE 2011

So after I tried and epically FAILED trying to film these NYE nails…. I figured I would at least blog them! Close up pics are to follow…

Lately I have been LOVING doing half moons on my nails (if you don’t know what that is… don’t worry, I have tutorials coming). So instead of doing a typical matte look, I decided to spice it up for NYE! I used Sephora by OPI in Mermaid to Order and Melani GEMS nail polishes to achieve this look. First, paint your nails with a base coat.. let it dry… then paint it with the Mermaid to These Order.  Once that is COMPLETELY dry, add the Milani Gems in a half moon at the base of your cuticle! Finish it off with a topcoat just to prevent the rough feeling raw chunky glitter can leave on the top of your nails!

This look is best with rounded nails, so go for a different shape if you keep them more square! I can’t express how feisty I felt with these nails on NYE! The glitter really gives it that extra POW to make your nails stand out! I got tons of compliments with this look, and I’m sure you would too!
