My take on the Urban Decay Naked2 Palette

I know you guys have probably seen tons of reviews on the Naked2 by Urban Decay… but I wanted to give my TRUE take on this palette… You know, outside of the hype that any new release, especially by Urban Decay, tends to instantly gain!

I am opting to skip on the review of the eyeshadows themselves. This is Urban Decay and they are known for quality products! All the eyeshadows are highly pigmented and none of them are chalky. I have swatches of both the Naked and Naked2 Palettes and I have my own reasoning for owning, or not owning both!

Why you DON’T need both:

  • The colors are very similar… if you are not an insane makeup fanatic, you can own either of these and probably achieve awesome makeup looks with it!
  • If you are new to the makeup arena and just want a few solid colors that you can use for everyday looks! All you need is the Naked or Naked2… not both!
  • You have a warmer skintone! These colors work better with warmer skin rather than cool, like the original Naked palette.
  • It’s expensive! At around 50 bucks a pop, these things are not cheap and sometimes that just ain’t in the budget!

(Original Naked is on top, Naked 2 on the bottom)

Why you DO need both:

  • You are a makeup junkie! And that’s okay… We’re mailing out membership cards next week!
  • You have a smaller collection or want to expand what you currently have. This is a great palette to allow you to try a lot of Urban Decay eyeshadows without spending the money it would cost to buy them all individually.
  • You are a makeup artist! If so… you can never have too much makeup, and the two palettes together complement almost any skintone I’ve ever worked on!

I will have swatches and a few more comparison pics down below. I won’t say whether you should or shouldn’t get it, but I will give the pros and cons to having both! If you don’t have either I would definitely pick up the one that you like the best! These palettes are too awesome to not have at least one!

Thanks for this! I was contemplating getting the Naked 2 to add to my collection, but I think I will just stick with the orginal Naked Pallette for now, due to them being soo similar =)

What if I say I got it for my bday and I must have used it once and 6 of the shades I have not touched, if you have another nude pallet which everyone seem to make you have nudes. I was considering selling it to a MUA I know, but i’ll keep it maybe one day i’ll get over my bold color trend I am on here and go do some nude looks. I also think there are way too many shimmer colors, but that is JMO. If I never got it I would not be missing out. I prefer UD individual shadows. I cannot tell the last time I did a naked/nude look.

giiiiiiiiirl!!!! Idk how you’ve only used that thing a few times! I like to wear neutral looks during the week… I usually save the color for the weekend! Try cracking it open again.. you’ll love it!
