L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Review

Lately everyone has been on the BB cream train and with all the buzz around these products I decided to try them! I’ve heard a lot of bloggers talking about BB creams in Asia for a few years now, but it seems like the US has finally caught up! During my last trip to CVS I decided to grab the L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream. For about $11.00 a pop, this product was a little pricey to be drugstore, but in the grand scheme of things it has a pretty good pricetag. This is the only BB cream I have ever tried and it was an interesting experience, to say the least. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

BB creams are for those women with fairly clear skin who don’t want a heavy foundation or a tinted moisturizer, but want to even out their skintone. I chose the “deep” color because of my tan, but honestly… it’s not very deep at all.

Initial application of this product is strange. It dispenses a white/ silvery silky product that is supposed to blend and match your skintone… I tried it out in the store. However, I let mine sit on my face for 20mins and got nothing. I ended up with this shimmery silver color all over my face. It was horrible. The picture to the right shows the product on my hand after about 15mins. Even once I smoothed it out, I got nothing but silver shimmer all over my hand.

This product claims to “hydrate, correct, even, and perfect” your skin.. which it very well may do if your use it over an extended period of time. However, after I realized I looked like I had just seen a ghost all day… I decided to add this to my “return pile” of goods for CVS. I gave it a fair shot for the day, and I don’t know if mine was a fluke container or if my skin wasn’t dark enough to change the color, but I wasn’t worth keeping the product.

If you’ve tried out this BB cream or any other… let me know what you think of it.

I was tempted to pick this one up but decided to pick up the Maybelline one instead in the shade medium/deep and I love it so far. If you have oily skin you may need a powder but overall I’ve heard great reviews and so far I’m loving it. I picked it up at CVS for about 9.49. It blends really well and gives a nice glow, but in my opinion they all seem like just a tinted moisturizer than the actual ones that are in Asia.

Mine never changed color… I’m not sure what was wrong with it! So it wasn’t worth it! I ended up looking like casper the friendly ghost! I’m glad it works for you! I will agree… it is a lot like a tinted moisturizer!
