Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure
Huge thanks to Influenster once again for introducing me to the Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-On Manicure products. I’ve seen them around, but I never bothered to try them! Well, I finally have and I wanted to give you guys the scoop! In case you’re wondering, I recieved number 56888.. I think that’s the only name distinction I saw.
For starters, I chose the nails that were the best fit for my 10 fingers, and laid them out so that I wouldn’t get confused later! If you can tell, there are clear tabs under each nail.. These will come in handy later!
Next, I cleaned off each nail with this wipe that is included. Essentially it removes excess moisture and oils from your nailbed so that the press-on’s will adhere properly! You don’t wanna look like Gina on that episode of Fresh Prince when she’s popping her nails off in the earthquake! LOL (yeah I said gina… I couldn’t remember her name in that episode LOL).
Once you peel off the back sticker, you have a clean nail with the adhesive exposed. When you apply it to your nail, leave a little space in-between it and your cuticle, but not to the point that you look like you desperately need a fill-in! Press down really hard on each nail to make sure it sticks, and…..voilà!!
That is how they look from the front! It was a fairly easy process and perfect for someone on the go who doesn’t have time to wait for polish to dry, or if you aren’t good at nail art, but still want to feel fancy. With all of that said, there are a few things I didn’t like about this product.
First thing, the way the adhesive leaves a gap between your natural nail and the press-on. This drove me INSANE! These nails are supposed to last a week, and after day 4 I just removed them because my OCD/anal tendencies just couldn’t let it slide any longer. My hair has been natural, and anytime I ran my fingers thru my hair I ripped at least two strands out because of that gap! I just couldn’t get passed that, I’m sorry! Not to mention the fact that you can easily SEE the space between the two nails. I hada friend call me out and say “are you wearing press-on nails?!” I had to explain that I was trying them out. I also had to file my fingernails down to almost nothing so that they wouldn’t show outside of the press-on’s! Now… If they made these in almond nails and found a way to make that glue a tiny bit thinner, I’d be game for these.
As for now, they won’t be something I pick up on my own! I’ll be sticking to my Kiss Nail Polish Strips when I want a design on the go. Have you guys tried them? How did they work out for you? If you want to check out their collection and what other products they have to offer, head over to their website for more. You can even virtually try on each product!
They retail for $5.99 for colors and $7.99 for patterns, and is available at CVS, Rite Aid, Duane Reade, KMart, Walgreens, Walmart and more. There’s a coupon for $1.00 off on that site if you want to try them for yourself! Let me know what you think!
XO, Al
