Goody QuikStyle Paddle Brush Review
New product alert!!! I’ve recently received the Goody Quikstyle Brush for review in my Influenster VoxBox! I know you guys love hair tools and products, so I wanted to try this out and get back to you ASAP!
This brush is meant to remove 30% of water from your hair to decrease drying times of your blowouts! Their website cites the following claims, and I will address my opinion on each one!
1) “Antimicrobial microfiber keeps the brush fresh”
It has been about a week now, and I haven’t noticed any type of mildew or yucky smell in the brush. Even with the antimicrobial claims, though, I would replace this brush every few months (as with any other product).
2) “Side Vents for maximum air flow”
There are big vents on the sides of this brush that make it a tad bit bulkier, but allow the air to pass through quickly. This not only speeds up the drying time, but it makes for a pretty cool-looking space-age feeling brush!
3) “Lightweight design to reduce hand fatigue while drying”
This brush was definitely much lighter than any other vent brush I own, but I’ll be honest… NOTHING can stop my arm fatigue because I have so much hair that my hands always get tired!
4) “Ergonomic handle is textured for extra grip”
The QuickStyle paddle brush is easily one of the most ergonomically-conscious brushes I have ever owned! It isn’t very heavy, the handle is curved for easy grip, and the textured area makes sure I don’t drop it if I run through an unexpected tangled hair!
5) “Absorbent microfiber bristles remove 30% of water for faster styling”
I used this brush in my barely-air dried hair, and I noticed that it definitely did help dry it much faster. However, this is where I realized that I did not like this brush whatsoever for my hair texture. I have very tight curls, and to blowdry it, you have to use more force, but be gentle at the same time. The microfiber bristles caused my curls to tangle so bad, and I could HEAR my hair breaking off as I blew it out. Paddle brushes are already bad news in regards to breaking off your hair, but adding an absorbent microfiber towel in-between each bristle made it worse. I think if you have naturally straight/ fine hair…. this product will work for you! I, unfortunately, have to tell you guys that if you are a curly girl or have coarse hair… stay away from this product! It will break your hair off and will cause so much damage that your trim may turn into more of a cut than you hoped for!
I hate to ever negatively review a product, but I have to make sure I am ALWAYS honest with you all! I would never want to lead you to a product that could hurt you in any way in the long run. Again…. this product will work for some, and for others, we need to know when to just walk away!
Have you guys tried this out? What do you think about it’s claims and features? What do you think are some ways to make this curl-friendly? You can see a couple review from other Influensters and get their take on this brush here!
XO,
Al
