Birchbloggers Event at Birchbox Local

Hey guys!! Can we just ignore the fact that I haven’t blogged in forever and jump straight into this post? Great!!! Moving up the east coast isn’t an easy feat, but I’m back LOL. With that said I got a chance to attend the Birchbox Birchbloggers event at their new Birchbox Local site in NYC! Can we say coolest thing EVER?!?! At this wonderful location that some may describe as heaven-on-earth, you can make your OWN birchbox from various samples that are loaded up on the walls surrounding the sample area. It’s only $15 to experience this… only $5 more than the normal box for hand-picked favs… Yes, please! It’s the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen haha.

If you didn’t know… there’s levels to this. No, seriously.. there are multiple floors to the Birchbox Local Shop. There’s a really cute lounge area as well as hair and makeup services when you first walk in. You’ll see stila, Color Club, Jouer and more giving life to anyone who walks in. There’s also a Birchbox Man lounge which I LOVED! Such a good idea! The beverage bar was so refreshing because I got so worn out in all the excitement that a little sip gave me a pick-me-up! I’ll post pictures of everything at the bottom of this blog. I was picture happy, but I really wanted you guys to be able to experience it!

Downstairs was a candy bar, photo booth, Benefit brow bar, more for the Birchbox shop, and another lounge. This lounge is the picture you see to the left where one of Birchbox’s founders, Katia Beauchamp and Jean Godfrey-June, Beauty Director of Lucky.

They had a very engaging Q&A to give us writers/beauty enthusiasts a little inspiration and words of wisdom. I couldn’t have asked for more! I got a chance to talk to her briefly. It’s humbling to hear the perspective of someone living your dream AND they be completely down to earth! AMAZEBALLS! haha This was one thing Jean discussed.. the words that people use when blogging that drive her bonkers lol. See, told y’all she was cool!

 Okay… Now to get to the good stuff! What I actually sampled from the wall! Since I’ve been to birchbox for almost 3 years now, I’ve tried a lot of stuff that was on the wall. So I decided to grab these products that were 100% new to me!

First I grabbed the DDF Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer Moisturizing Serum that feels like heaven on my skin and doesn’t break me out. I also picked up the Marcelle Gentle Makeup Remover for Sensitive Eyes, but I haven’t used this yet! If you guys are curious about it I can write a review! See that little lipgloss-looking tube in there? Yeah, that’s stila’s stay all day liquid lipstick in Beso! The only color I DIDN’T have and trust, it’s just as awesome as I thought it’d be! Then I decided to try the Serge Normant Meta Revive Dry Shampoo because I haven’t heard of their products before. No update yet, though! I’ll keep you posted! Lastly was the DevaCurl Flexible-Hold Hair Spray because I’ve been itching to get my hands on some of these products! Honestly, I think I had more fun choosing my samples than actually trying them… nahhhh… it’s a close second! 😉
