I got my Birchbox towards the end of December AGAIN!!! So I apologize that this post is going up late, but with the holidays, I just couldn’t swing it! Anyway, this was an okay box that introduced me to a lot of new, amazing products… If you want to find out about each one… Just keep reading!
First up is Benefit’s it’s potent! eye cream! This is said to fade dark circles with daily use. I’ve only been using it for about a week now, and I haven’t seen that much improvement, however that’s not a long time for these bags, hunnay!
I am always sure to apply this product under my eyes using a gentle patting motion with my ring finger! The skin around your eyes is very delicate and needs a gentle touch! This product retails for $32 at 0.5oz! OUCH! But if it works, I’ll happily shell out the cash!
This next product is ModelCo SHINE Ultra Lip Gloss. It’s a nice baby pink sheer gloss with a really cool mirror on the tube to make application and touch-ups a breeze. Main thing that makes me love it? It’s not STICKY!!!!! I will say that the staying power isn’t amazing on bare lips, but who cares when you can reapply on that cute little mirror. This retails for $16.00, so at that price tag I’m not sure that it would be a product I’d normally purchase.
Next up is the Kérastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique – Protect. That is all just a really fancy way of saying heat protectant! LOL It uses Royal jelly (a bee’s milk), Xylose, and Guar Gum to create a barrier for your hair against heat damage! Being a naturally curly girl I can truly appreciate this, but honestly every hair type should use heat protectant! This retails for $42 at 150mL, so I’m sure it’s an amazing product! Once I try this out for a long time I’ll be sure to come back and post a review!
I always love getting perfume samples because I know there’s no way I would smell all of these in the store. This one is Juicy Couture by Juicy Couture. It has top notes of watermelon, passion fruit, and mandarin. I mostly smell the mandarin when I wear it! There’s also undertones of rose, vanilla, and caramel that really last when you wear this fragrance. I LOVE this scent. It’s $90 for 3.4oz, so it’ll definitely be something that I ask for on Valentine’s Day or something haha.
Let me be honest here….this was incredibly random, but birchbox is known for putting food samples in their monthly beauty boxes. This is Emily’s Chocolates Chocolate Covered Fortune Cookies. I have not tried this yet, because, to be honest, I’m trying to eat better and I think having this yummy chocolate goodness will force me down memory lane of sweets lol. I will be sure to try it soon and tweet about how I feel about it. So make sure you’re following me on twitter to see if I could resist further temptation after I eat it!
Last, but not least, is a discount code to Sole Society. I have recently used this and should have some shoes coming in soon, so I’ll be sure to let you guys know what I think of the service! These shoes are $49.95 each pair, so hopefully they will be of better quality than some of the other website similar to this one!
So that was my birchbox this month! What came in yours?! Happy New Year, and let’s knock 2013 out of the park!!!!
