Bite Beauty The Liquified Lipstick Review

Thanks to the folks over at Influenster, I was able to get my hands on a few of the new BITE beauty Liquified Lipsticks. I wanted to share my experiences with these lipsticks since I’ve been testing them out for a few weeks now.
Let me start off by saying that these are NOT like the typical liquid lipsticks we think of when we hear that term. These are, simply put, a liquified lipstick. Think, lipstick bullet, lots of heat, melt it down, put it in a container and use a doe-foot applicator to apply it to your lips. These are literally a liquid version of the Amuse Bouche lipsticks BITE released earlier.

Now to the deets… I received three shades of these lipsticks:  Eclair, Flambe, and Demi-Glacé; I also tried the lip primer. I have to say that these are great products, but they’re not the liquid lipsticks we have come to expect. These are what the name suggests- liquified lipsticks. There is no extra wear time or features just because it’s a “liquid lipstick.”

With that said, I do like the color payoff on these lipsticks. Flambé is a bit patchy, but most fire orange lipsticks are. The pigmentation is great on the other shades, though. They are very creamy and non-drying. But hunnayyyyy they are not smudgeproof, even with the primer. They bled outside of my lipline and transferred to any cup, straw, or hubby’s lips I kissed. It’s nice to have them in liquid form, though, because it makes a precise application easier.

Overall, I would say you should reach for this product if you like the ease of application of a liquid lipstick, but enjoy the wear of a more creamy lipstick! Have you tried any of the Amuse Bouche line? What did you think?!

See you in the next post!

Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet Review

You know how I feel about a good liquid lipstick, right?!? Well, I got the chance to try this Liquid Lip Velvet by Burberry ($35) in the shade Bright Plum. I also tried the Lip Definer Lip Pencil ($30) in Bright Plum (which is creamy and long-lasting enough to wear on its own), and the Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pencil ($37)- meh.

I loved the application of the liquid lipstick product! It is so rich in color and has such a creamy feel. If you hate how drying liquid lipsticks are, this may be a great option for you!
The only downside to this product is that is wasn’t transfer-free so it doesn’t have as much staying power as some of the other liquid lipsticks on the market (otherwise I would give this 5 stars). I wore this through a meal and although the outside lasted (probably because the lip liner was on the outsides of my lip), the middle portion of my lips were very faded. It did leave behind a hint of color, but if you like that flawless look of a liquid lip, this won’t work after your fav meal! Be sure to use the lip liners that come with it to avoid bleeding around the edges of your mouth! I tried this without a lip liner and it definitely bled.

Although I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes; all opinions are my own. And in my opinion, this may be a bit too pricey to purchase without the staying power I’m looking for. Just my thoughts. What do you think!? What matters most in a liquid lipstick to you- staying power or how it feels on your lips?
See you in the next post!

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Precious Oil Review

Okay, so I know what you’re thinking…. “I already have the perfume. Why on earth would I want the oil, too?!” Walk with me on the pathway of longer-lasting scent. *DJ Khaled voice*
When you’re wearing a scent as notable as Flowerbomb, you don’t want it to last only a few hours, right?! That’s where this precious oil comes in. This product is a perfume oil which has a more concentrated amount of fragrance “per drop”, for lack of a better description. Essentially, this oil is more potent. When I wear this fragrance I definitely smell the notes of sambac jasmine, cattleya orchid, and ballerina freesia bloom. I smell a bit of the centifolia rose, but I wish that note came out a little stronger. I’m a hardcore floral fragrance girl… (I can’t even believe I’m saying that. The Althea from 5years ago would never say that)… So I wish I had a bit more of that scent in this fragrance, and a bit less of the patchouli, which is the base of this fragrance. Anyway, this isn’t a fragrance review- we allllll know what Flowerbomb smells like. It’s a major player in the fragrance game.

“But Al, you’ve done all that typing and I still don’t know why I NEED this oil.” SHADE! Yep. I hear you behind that screen. I hear that skepticism lol. The reason this product is so clutch is because it is applied to your pressure points BEFORE you put on your perfume. This oil helps to magnify the scent and prolong it. I tested the perfume without the oil and with it. Using the precious oil gave me another 3 hours of wear. The reason for this is there is more than just a surface scent application going on there. The oil absorbs into your skin, locking that scent in for longer. It’s genius!! So by the time my scent would’ve normally worn off, I had a second wind thanks to the Flowerbomb Precious Oil! I put two drops on each pulse point and let it absorb without bothering it. Once I can tell the oil has absorbed in my skin, then I spray on the Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum. *flips hair in the wind* Now I’m ready to go reenact a Beyoncé video.

My fav feature about this Flowerbomb Precious Oil, other than the obvi prolonged fragrance, is the fancy packaging. Phew, hunnay. If you thought the glass grenade was gorge, this is right there in its league. It has a sleek package with the most convenient glass dropper. Fancy smhmancayyyyyy!!

All in all, this product is a great addition to the Flowerbomb line. It is exclusive to Sephora, though, so that’s the only place you’ll be able to pick this up! For 0.68oz of this product expect to pay $75. To me that is a tad bit steep, but it’s expected because Flowerbomb is an iconic fragrance with the price tag to match. Huge thanks to Influenster for allowing me to test and review this product. You guys know, that doesn’t alter my opinion at all. So…. Let me know in the comments… Have you ever tried Flowerbomb? Do you own it? Would you invest in this Flowerbomb Precious Oil?
See you guys in the next post!
