    30 Books for Black Kids

HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH!!! I’m kicking off the month showcasing 30 of our favorite books for black children (we really should have a longer month, but don’t put me on my soapbox tahday) These books have noticeably boosted the confidence in our children. They love their beautiful brown skin, their kinky coily hair, and their bedtime bonnets alllllll thanks to these books! I cannot stress enough how important it is to not only read to our children, but to read books that speak life and love into them and their culture. There are a few that are missing (because we read books all over the house). I can make a…

Black & White Christmas: Part I

So the time has come… for me to honor my true self and decorate my house for Christmas… in all neutral colors! 🤩🤣😬 Listen… I could only avoid this for but so long. I did the colorful trees for my hubby and my babies. This tree, this year… is for ME! 🤣 It’s my time now! Lol But in all seriousness. I have so much decor this year that I am doing it in stages and decorating each area as time permits. The first area I’m decorating is our brand new updated bay window. The real estate on the ledge of this window is so big and gorgeous that I…

Bite Beauty The Liquified Lipstick Review

Thanks to the folks over at Influenster, I was able to get my hands on a few of the new BITE beauty Liquified Lipsticks. I wanted to share my experiences with these lipsticks since I’ve been testing them out for a few weeks now. Let me start off by saying that these are NOT like the typical liquid lipsticks we think of when we hear that term. These are, simply put, a liquified lipstick. Think, lipstick bullet, lots of heat, melt it down, put it in a container and use a doe-foot applicator to apply it to your lips. These are literally a liquid version of the Amuse Bouche lipsticks…

    Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet Review

You know how I feel about a good liquid lipstick, right?!? Well, I got the chance to try this Liquid Lip Velvet by Burberry ($35) in the shade Bright Plum. I also tried the Lip Definer Lip Pencil ($30) in Bright Plum (which is creamy and long-lasting enough to wear on its own), and the Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pencil ($37)- meh.  I loved the application of the liquid lipstick product! It is so rich in color and has such a creamy feel. If you hate how drying liquid lipsticks are, this may be a great option for you! The only downside to this product is that is wasn’t transfer-free so…

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Precious Oil Review

Okay, so I know what you’re thinking…. “I already have the perfume. Why on earth would I want the oil, too?!” Walk with me on the pathway of longer-lasting scent. *DJ Khaled voice* When you’re wearing a scent as notable as Flowerbomb, you don’t want it to last only a few hours, right?! That’s where this precious oil comes in. This product is a perfume oil which has a more concentrated amount of fragrance “per drop”, for lack of a better description. Essentially, this oil is more potent. When I wear this fragrance I definitely smell the notes of sambac jasmine, cattleya orchid, and ballerina freesia bloom. I smell a…
